The Boundless Qualities of the Heart— Living more fully, more fluidly, and more freely

“We find freedom when our speech and actions align with our intentions and values.” — Martin Aylward

Six weekly sessions followed by practice reflections, journaling, or quietly enjoying the summer evening as night falls onboard the S/V Blue Mind.

This course culminates in a half-day Sailing Retreat and is limited to a maximum of five students.

Friendliness and goodwill, compassion, delight and joy, and steadiness can become the home of our hearts. The heart naturally wants to care, be a refuge, and be a safe place for others.

A boundless heart brings change to the world. We are planting seeds. On an interpersonal level, we can have a significant impact. Trusting in what is meaningful to ourselves is best for everyone and may lead to good.

Can we meet life moment by moment, with a wide-open embrace? This is life. This is how it is. We teach our hearts to be kind, compassionate, joyful, and steady. By our speech and actions, we can change the world for one person today.

There is meaning in moment-to-moment experience. Consider shifting perspective from finding purpose in life to finding meaning. We can find meaning in connection to one another and our natural world.

  • Week 1: Course Overview
  • Week 2: Loving Kindness, Friendliness, and Goodwill
  • Week 3: Compassion– The Tender Heart
  • Week 4: Appreciative Joy, Delight, and Gratitude
  • Week 5: Steadiness/Spaciousness (Traditionally Equanimity)
  • Week 6: The Expression of Your Practice in Your Life and in the World
